Life After Death

Happy New Year!

The year 2018 came with many unbelievable blessings and growth for me and I hope you enjoyed the same and more too 🙂

2018 is dead and gone…bringing me to the title of this article. On a more personal and human level, what are your beliefs on death and life after death? As a sanctified and saved child of God, my beliefs on death and the life thereafter (yes, I do believe in life after death) are based on the revelations of the Holy Bible and my walk with God.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” – John 3:16

As a believer and loved child of God, John 3:16 serves as a reminder for me of the eternal nature of our heavenly Father. He is Alpha and Omega (Rev. 22:13) and I am therefore reassured that through Christ’s death, Jesus paid the ultimate price for my/our salvation. As a result we are saved from perishing. Christ’s resurrection from death symbolizes the eternal nature of human life.

“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will go and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” – John 14:2

Christ ascended to heaven and poses a hope filled question to his followers regarding the after life and the place where he and God dwell, and has returned to after death. A place called home, free from hunger, thirst, pain a place of joy! (Rev. 7:16-17) I love how Christ says I will “TAKE you to be with me” Showing that the way to heaven is through him (Christ) the one who takes us into eternity to be alive with him.

“Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out – those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.” John 5:28-29

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour then John 5: 28-29 applies to you. Notice how the dead in their graves do not hear our voices right now, however at that particular moment when the voice of Christ speaks it will be heard even by the dead. All in their graves will rise. Some believers and others non-believers. Which one will you be? Will you go into paradise or will you be weeping and gnashing your teeth in hell? (Luke 13:28). It is never too late to accept Jesus Christ in your life.

” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:42

As Jesus Christ hung on the cross, he’s words remained the fountains of life. Christ spoke of paradise while in the valley of the shadow of death and reassured a reformed criminal and now believer, hanging on the cross that he will be lead to paradise after death. It is therefore never too late to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:19

If you haven’t accepted Jesus Chris as your Lord and Saviour and you want to live with him in paradise for eternity all you need to do is confess with you mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord (Romans 10:9). Simple! You can say this prayer out loud to meet with Christ in paradise:  “Father God, I love you. I believe in you. I need you. I’m sorry for my sins. Sorry about the way I’ve lived. Sorry for shutting You out. I want You in my life. I surrender. I yield. I receive Jesus as my Saviour and my Lord. I believe He died for me. He rose from the dead. He’s alive today. Come into me. Take me just the way I am. Now make me everything You want me to be. I believe I’m saved. I’m on my way to heaven, and I’m going to enjoy the trip. Amen.”

You are now born again, washed in the blood of Jesus and free from all defects. Enjoy your journey with God. See you in heaven 🙂

Be blessed today and forever 🙂

“I Am Black but Beautiful”

Image 1: Brainyquote (2018)

Decades after South African liberation, we claim to live in era where we are free to be ourselves. Yet, black women across Africa and globally still find it hard to accept their striking dark black skin.

Skin bleaching has vastly become a celebrated “cosmetic” often donned by leading women of colour, on our television screens and lately, in the palm of our hands. Discrimination of skin tone being the main driver of this harmful beauty trend, earns reputable cosmetic companies key profits.

On the contrary, in an era where the dissemination of information is not only dependent on mass media,  trendy hashtags have become the “it” tool for capturing target audiences. This disruptive medium has echoed the voices of black liberation re-birthing ideologies with an era celebrating Black Consciousness. A culture, iconic martyrs such as Steve Biko and Martin Luther King Jr. would infinitely applaud.

#Melaninpopping #Melaninonfleek #Blackgirlmagic #Melaningqueen #Blackexcellence only to name a few, have become prevalent terms in our vocabulary, to celebrate the beauty of African skin. Unconventional activists of our time, have emerged to commemorate black beauty by using their prominence to take a stand against skin bleaching.

South Sudanese #BlackBeauty Nyakim Gatwech was bullied everywhere for her dark skin. She turned her victimization in victory by using social media to document her experiences. These went viral and as they say: “the rest is history.”

Senagelese Stunner AKA #MelaninGoddess Khoudia Diop, went viral after she posted on social media about racist bullying. The model has since become a staunch activist against skin bleaching and discrimination.

Walk tall, because without you a man finds no favour (Proverbs 18: 22),

Without you, a child is not fed (Isaiah 49: 15)

Without you, we lack courage (Song of Solomon 4: 8)

Without you, we can not trust (1 Timothy 3: 11)

Without you…there is no life (1 Timothy 2: 15)

It All Started With A Sketch

We all love the final product on the runway or on the clothing rails but, have you imagined how the piece first looked like on paper?

As much as I am a Jesus freak, I’m also a huge fan of creativity and art. In really whichever form 🙂

One of the ways, I express myself is through fashion and colors. Jacob  after all knew the secret to wearing a jacket with many colors. As he presented his favorite son with a “coat of many colors” (Genesis 37:3).

Today i feature some of my favorite fashion art, I came across on the net.

Who doesn’t love a scarf to beat the chill?

“How Great Thou Art”

Christian Graffiti

“See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft” (Ex. 31:2-5).

As a creative, I am captured by the Lord’s references to art in his word. I have since become attracted to graffiti as a form of spiritual expression.

To preserve the dignity of our faith, I urge all graffiti artist’s to practice this oftentimes criticized expression, within the stipulated confines of the law. Obviously.

For inspiration, I have shared with you a few images of Christian and Bible graffiti.

Enjoy! 🙂

Let Not Your Heart Perish

“Before I formed you in your mother’s womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…” Jeremiah 1:5

It gives me so much pleasure to write to you this morning. To give you the good news about your “you-niqueness” (uniqueness). Your differentiating factor.  The Lord has set you apart. This is confirmation that you have been formed with a purpose, in-spite of your insecurities . There are reasons behind your existence. The Lord has constructed your path, long before your physical birth. We are God’s children crowned in glory and honor (Psalms 8:5). Therefore, It is comforting to know that our insecurities have no power without us exerting our energies upon them.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden” Matthew 5:14

Your uniqueness means that you carry an innate source of light, one which cannot be dimmed. Your light is too bright, my friend. And, it is waiting for you to share it like a…twitter post 😉 Okay Twitter is not in the Bible.  However, sharing your light is as simple (Matthew 5: 14). Personally, I’m encouraged knowing that within me flows an unlimited supply of light.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23 – 24

Truthfully,  you are on this earth to serve the Lord. Be it through your talents, evangelism or simply helping the needy. Allow your inner light to guide you in serving the Lord to the best of your abilities. I urge you to search the depths of your heart and to dissolve the pursuit of yourself, in the heart’s of man. Give your heart to God. This is the key to receiving all delights and desires through God’s unprecedented promises (Proverbs 23:26).

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7

You may fear rejection from those closest to you.  Simply because your decision may lead you to break away from the usual crowd. But, I encourage you to not despair, because there lies no reward in fearing man. Fear the Lord for you will be freely blessed. With the fear of our King you shall receive wisdom and understanding (Psalms 111:10). Note how “good fear” is encouraged because it’s rewards exceed our expectations. Far more exceeding than man’s superficial strength, may fathom to reward us. It is in fact a dangerous trap to fear man, but trusting the Lord brings safety (Proverbs 29: 25).

You may have been subjected to the rule and authority of man over your life. It is never too late to give the burden to God. Embrace your differences and witness your fall from superficial rule. While you elevate into a divine sanctuary of acceptance, prosperity, purpose, light, direction and delight.

Be blessed 🙂
